When the Clone Tool came to Procreate, there were so many other amazing additions, it’s not really a surprise that it got less of a mention than some of the more dazzling features!

This feature has been in Photoshop for a long time, and to see it introduced into Procreate is another sign these guys are a serious threat to desktop design.

What does the clone tool do?

The clone tool is a powerful photo editing tool that allows you to paint pixels from one area onto another. It is often used for minor alterations to an image, such as removing unwanted specks or blemishes. OR you can get really creative and use it to create lettering out of coffee foam!

In today’s project we’ll take a regular cup of coffee and paint in some lettering by cloning areas of the foam. This is a tool with endless possibilities, and hopefully today’s project opens up some extra creative ways to utilise it! ✨

Download the free coffee image we’ll be using as the background, and let’s get started!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. I’d love to see what you create. Tag me on instagram @nicolemauloni or post a link to your design in the comments below!
