While Procreate is an amazing tool, it’s not a true 4 channel app (meaning it only replicates the CMYK colors needed for printing).

In order to print the special gold foil, we need to supply the artwork in TRUE 100% black. This can only be done with an app that has the proper 4 channels – Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black.

If you have Photoshop, you’re all set and lessons are also provided for this option.

Course Requirements

Here’s what you need in order to take this course.

Procreate version 5.3.10 (or newer)
All updates for Procreate are included with the app, so if you have an older version, you can update for free!

An iPad with pressure sensitivity
There are some lessons that utilize brushes with pressure sensitivity settings. You will need a compatible iPad to take advantage of these.

The Apple Pencil (or other pressure sensitive stylus)
While it’s not essential, there are some lessons where we use pressure sensitive brushes. You will need a compatible stylus in order to do this.

A 2nd App for Exporting
Because Procreate is not a true 4-channel app, we need to run the artwork through another app to correct the color. If you have Adobe Photoshop, this will work fine (and there are instructions included for this option).

I recommend Affinity Designer. Not only can it handle the color formatting we need, it also has other useful features such as robust vector tools.

And the good news is, Affinity Designer Version 2 for the iPad comes free as part of this course, for the first 25 enrollments! The remaining students get for 1/2 price!
